A Message from PAAA President Hey Chong, MD, PhD, FAAAI

It is with great honor and appreciation that I accept the role of president of the Pennsylvania Allergy & Asthma Association. I am thrilled to be leading such a dedicated and passionate group of professionals committed to the advancement of allergy and immunology.

Over the past years, I have had the opportunity to serve on the PAAA Board of Regents. I have come to learn how this organization serves its members and I know that the various activities and services of PAAA are the result of the hard work and dedication of those who have gone before me – the previous Officers, Regents, and committee members who have built our foundation of excellence, innovation, and collaboration. I am inspired by their example and confident that our collective efforts will continue to support the professional development of our members, the advancement of cutting-edge research, and improvements in patient care.

I envision a future where every member of our association feels valued and empowered to contribute fully. Together, we will strive to create a supportive environment where everyone can thrive, regardless of background or circumstance. This commitment extends beyond our organization to the communities we serve. We must address disparities in healthcare access and outcomes, ensuring that all individuals receive equitable care.

I encourage you to take advantage of your PAAA membership. Participate in our events. Contribute to our forums. Advocate for your patients. Whether you are an experienced professional or just beginning your career, we are here to support you every step of the way.
In the coming year, I welcome the opportunity to working with each of you to advance our mission. Together, we will build upon the foundation laid by our predecessors, champion diversity and inclusion, and continue to elevate the standards of allergy and asthma care throughout Pennsylvania.
